Boston Terrier Rescue

I love my new home!

Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Wastington (BTRWW) is a group of volunteers from Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue (SPDR) who work together specifically to find homes for Boston Terriers.

BTRWW is dedicated to placing unwanted or abandoned Boston Terriers. The network arranges for emergency rescues and gathers information designed to match appropriate dogs to appropriate permanent homes.

The majority of dogs are simply unwanted by no fault of their own. Owners often find that they were unprepared for the care required. They may be unable to provide the time, attention, and level of activity necessary for this lively little dog to thrive. Sometimes jobs or life situations change, (divorce, death, etc. ) making it impossible for someone to keep their pet.

Rescue cannot place a dog that is aggressive to humans, is a biter or dogs in poor health (incurable disease). Rescue is not a clearing point for dogs with serious behavior or health problems. We will make every effort to assist or council when an owner seeks advice that might enable them to keep their dog.

Rescue dogs cannot be used for breeding. All animals must be spayed or neutered as part of the placement process, and are placed strictly as pets.

Adopting a dog is a serious responsibility and requires the new owner to make a financial and care giving commitment. Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington incurrs medical and foster care expenses on most rehomed dogs and request a donation for adopting a dog. This donation to SPDR helps to offset some of these costs.

Adoption approval is based on, the owner's lifestyle, available time to care for a dog, and their abililty to house and give proper medical attention when needed. A fenced yard is often required. Our goal is to be sure that this is the dog’s home for the rest of its life.

Most of the Bostons needing homes are males ranging in age from six to ten. There are females, older, and younger dogs, just not as many.

If you can provide a safe and loving home for a Boston Terrier, fill out an application. Our dogs are placed only to families with applications on file. Please consider adopting an adult dog over having a cute puppy. Puppies grow up fast and an older dog usually is very loyal, extremely affectionate, housebroken, and appreciate their new homes. Most adopted dogs adjust quickly, with few adjustment problems. Most importantly, their life depends on someone like yourself being willing to give them a chance.

Boston Terrier Rescue is operated entirely by volunteers and with donations.
